Mazda introduces the new CX-5 at the IAA (13 to 25 September 2011) in Frankfurt. The compact SUV is the first vehicle with the brand new face “Kodo – Soul of Motion” series. The future of Mazda design language could be seen already in the CX-5 study “Minagi” and the concept car “Shinari”. The SUV comes in Germany in spring 2012 on the market.
Skyactiv engines
As the engine for the new compact SUV Skyactiv engines are available – a 2.2-liter diesel engine in two power levels and a 2.0-liter gasoline engine. The Mazda Performance is known only at the IAA. We assume that the gasoline engine provides 165 horsepower, the diesel variants are expected to be 150 and 175 hp strong. What makes the Skyactiv aggregates: Both the gasoline engine, and the two diesels are working with a compression ratio of 14:1 and thus should be very economical. The 2.2-liter diesel, according to Mazda achieved a CO2 emission level of less than 120 grams per kilometer.
Revised Mazda 3 at the IAA
In addition to the CX-5, the Japanese manufacturer at the IAA and the face-lifted Mazda 3 This compact car is redesigned inside and out easily. Mazda also promises a higher quality and better driving dynamics than its predecessor. The CO2 emissions should be reduced as well.
