The Difference of Dealers and Auto Shops

Have you ever visited an automotive shop? You see they have so many things, parts, or stuff around. Maybe you’re wondering what they are and why they have so many things kept there; from body kits, spare parts and accessories – maybe they even have some Toyota replacement parts for your ride. Well, they should have because they offer much service than the official dealers do. What does it mean?

In dealers, they offer good quality and reliable parts, I know. But they only have OEM parts, which mean they only sell the parts manufactured by the company. They won’t sell other parts or other product from other companies. And the parts are usually a lot expensive since they have extra cost burden, such as tax, brand tax, etc. On the contrary, ordinary automotive shops don’t have such duties and obligations. Since they’re not tied to any particular brands, they could sell all kinds of products from different brands, companies, or manufacturers, including selling the Toyota replacement parts.

So when you’re looking for Toyota replacement parts for your car, it’s wise to look for them in these automotive shops, since they offer less expensive price. Sometimes the price can be 70% cheaper than the one in dealers. Still, you need to be careful. Only go to shops that friends or relatives have recommended.

Buying Replacement Auto Parts Online

When you have problems with your car, especially when you need to change them, don’t worry. You can always buy replacement auto parts through online shops. Of course I wouldn’t recommend it when you have no experience in online transaction at all. Do this way if you’re ready familiar with online transaction and business, so that you won’t fall into the trap of scam or fraud.

When you buy replacement auto parts online, you can view them all without feeling tired or exhausted at all. Can you imagine spending hours at shops looking at thousands of parts? I don’t think you’d like it. But it’d be different when you view them online, where you just need to sit behind your computer and view them in details one by one, which you couldn’t do in real shops.

When shopping replacement auto parts online, you get to do the transaction at any moment since they operate 24 hours a day. You also don’t need to go out to pick up the part because they’ll deliver those parts right into the front door of your house! But again, you need to do this carefully and only choose the reliable online shops. If not, you might regret your choice and lose your money as well.

Replacement Parts

The biggest challenge in finding ideal replacement parts for one’s vehicle is finding parts that exactly match the originals and blend in with the rest of your automobile. There are few things worse on your car than a part that screams out a different tune from the rest of the car, maybe having a slightly deeper shade or being just a few inches larger than other similar parts.

But to get good replacement parts, even more importantly in terms of quality, one needs to have conducted good research before making a purchase. At least find out the name, function and characteristics of the part you want to replace. Furthermore, do not believe everything you read online because no one can ever mention that their parts are counterfeit, it kind of beats the purpose of advertising; but common sense tells us that some dealers sell better quality parts than others and that prices also vary.
Do not ignore parts that are second hand as not all of them are necessarily of a lower quality than what is sold as new. One advantage that used parts’ sellers are sure to point out is that these parts are certified, their worth has been proven through use so it is a worthwhile consideration though not without its risks. One can also get used parts with a warranty.

Purchases made online should be preceded by a thorough examination of the part, if possible on video sites to get a clear idea on exactly what you want to buy, before you buy it.
And just in case you are the one intending to sell replacement parts, technology has also made it easier for you since we have auto parts dealers’ websites with the option of placing your ‘for sale’ and ‘wanted’ ads.
